The Improvised Life with Katie Goodman | How To Create A Courageous, Adventurous, Meaningful Life, Driven By Purpose

May 21, 2018

So here’s the thing I started realizing about achievement. It's completely random. I have about 5 million views of my comedy videos. So what’s the goal here? 5 million and 1???? Your brain wants to believe there’s some actually number that means something. Like NOW I've arrived. What if you work in an emergency room and help 100 people a week. But you feel like it’s not enough. Would 110 make you a better person?

It’s the belief that there’s this certain amount of visibility or validation or appreciation or money or fame that makes you OKAY. And I imagine a lot of you totally get what I’m saying but how many of us really question this on a regular basis. How many of us just keep plugging away stressed and striving and overworking and being disappointed that we never have enough success?
